Sciatica: Pain That Travels
Sciatica is more than just back pain—it’s a radiating discomfort that can travel from your lower back down your leg, ranging from a dull ache to a sharp, shooting pain that makes sitting or standing difficult. You may also experience numbness, tingling, or weakness in your leg or foot. Sciatica can appear suddenly or develop gradually, disrupting your daily life and limiting your movement.
Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back down the back of your leg, becomes irritated or compressed. Common causes include herniated discs, spinal stenosis, vertebra misalignment, or tight muscles like the piriformis.

Our Integrated Approach to Sciatica Treatment
At Elite Sport & Spine, we take a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to treating sciatica. Our goal is to relieve pain, restore mobility, and address the root cause of your symptoms so the condition doesn’t return. Every treatment plan begins with a detailed evaluation to classify your condition and determine the most effective path to recovery. From there, we combine targeted chiropractic techniques, physiotherapy, and personalized exercises designed to reduce radiating leg pain, strengthen supporting muscles, and restore proper spinal and hip function.
Depending on the source of your sciatica, treatment may focus on the lumbar spine to decrease nerve root irritation or on the hips to correct muscle imbalances, including the piriformis and deep external rotators. Our integrated therapies can include chiropractic manipulation, McKenzie (MDT) therapy, Graston and Active Release techniques, exercise therapy, and guided stretching.
Other Treatment Options
For cases where conservative care alone isn’t enough, we coordinate closely with your medical doctor to explore complementary options, such as anti-inflammatory medications, spinal injections, or surgical interventions, ensuring a results-driven, personalized plan that supports long-term movement freedom and performance.
