At Elite Sport & Spine, our sports chiropractors take pride in having the best knowledge and treatment options to help prevent and treat the most typical (and not so typical) running injuries. We continually stay updated on the evaluation and treatment of running injuries and gait biomechanics to offer the most effective and evidence-based advice and treatments.
Dr. Shiels also brings over 20 years of personal running experience with first-hand knowledge on training, recovery, injury prevention, and self-treatment. Most of the self-treatment tools and techniques we offer require some education on how to use them and which are best for your injury or ailment, and we are more than happy to take time to explain and demonstrate for you. We are passionate about running injury prevention and treatment because we believe running with an injury is completely avoidable if proper care is taken. Not being able to run because of pain is simply not an option! We never want to see you sidelined again.
In addition, we work with our local community running specialty store, Performance Running Outfitters, for proper shoe fitting, injury prevention seminars, and group running opportunities where you may need technical running gear and community encouragement.
