Dr. Shiels On Treating Running Injuries
Dr. Zach Shiels has been invited to present about treating running injuries at the Palmer College of Chiropractic campus in Port Orange, Florida on Friday, March 1st.
The continuing education session focuses on the assessment and management of running injuries for chiropractors. The presentation covers running gait biomechanics and the link to common running injuries. Furthermore, assessment and diagnosis will highlight gait analysis, movement screens, and muscle and joint assessments. Management options will highlight neurologic and structural techniques, as well as soft-tissue treatments to create more efficient movement.
In addition, his presentation includes the diagnosis and treatment of common running injuries. These will include low back pain, IT-band syndrome, and plantar fasciitis among others. Furthermore, it covers the underlying biomechanical dysfunctions that lead to these conditions and how to correct them without affecting the runner’s natural gait.
