Sports Chiropractic IS Different
Why Is Sports Chiropractic Different?
A common misconception about chiropractic therapy is the interpretation that all we do is relieve back pain when in reality, our bread and butter is relieving any musculoskeletal pain, wherever it may be. Back pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot/ankle pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist/and pain, we treat it all.
Elite Sport and Spine’s sports chiropractic approach to patient care, allows us to handle a wide variety of injuries.
Dr. Zach and Dr. Jake utilize a host of different tools including, but not limited to, myofascial release, dry needling, Graston (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), corrective exercise therapy and rehab, as well as spinal and extremity adjusting. Each tool in our tool box allows us to approach any injury and addresses the multiple different structures that could be related to your pain and dysfunction. Graston technique, myofascial release, and dry needling are therapeutic techniques designed to help treat soft tissue structures such as muscles, ligaments and tendons. We may also choose to use the chiropractic adjustment to help reintroduce proper motion into a joint. One misconception that we hear from patients quite often is, “ I just need you to put my bone back into place or re-align my pelvis” When we adjust the spine or an extremity joint, we are actually removing joint fixations to help the joints share motion and allow the body move in the way it was intended to. Finally, once the muscle and joint function have been treated, we introduce corrective exercises and rehab to help reinforce the ideal movement we created through soft tissue therapy and adjustments. This helps maintain the changes and keep the pain from coming back in the future.
In short, Dr. Jake and Dr. Zach’s sports chiropractic approach allows us to properly diagnose you and provide the most appropriate tool during your personalized treatment plan to ensure the best results.
What If Your Condition Is Not Something That We Can Help You With?
The chiropractic education is 3.5 years of intense medical studies where we are trained to understand, recognize, and diagnose conditions outside of musculoskeletal pain. Many internal, non-musculoskeletal conditions, present with symptoms like back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, etc. We work in conjunction with other medical professionals to provide patients with the best possible care and refer these patients for treatments outside of our knowledge and expertise.
